Donostia-San Sebastian is a small city located on the southern coast of the Bay of Biscay. Also known as the pearl of the Cantabrian Sea, it is said to be one of the most beautiful spots in the Iberian Peninsula. Its location facing the sea, against the backdrop of mountainous landscape, together with the jovial atmosphere and a wide range of gastronomical delights, make it a famous tourist destination within Europe.
Donostia-San Sebastian is a candidate of becoming European Capital of Culture in 2016. Some of the highlights of cultural activities taking place here throughout the year are “Jazzaldia” the Jazz festival in July, the well-known International Film festival in September, and horror&fantasy film festival in November.
